Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award

The Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award recognizes a licensed pharmacist who has demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and innovation within the profession in the first ten years of practice. This award honors an individual whose outstanding contributions to the state pharmacy association and meaningful impact in their local community exemplify the highest ideals of pharmacy.

Nominees should display a strong commitment to advancing the profession through active involvement in professional organizations, advocacy, mentorship, or education. Equally important is their dedication to community health, whether through outreach programs, public health initiatives, or improving access to care.

This award celebrates a rising leader whose passion, professionalism, and contributions inspire their peers and shape the future of pharmacy.

Qualifications:

  • Been licensed for 10 years or less
  • Currently licensed in West Virginia
  • Current member of WVPA
  • Currently practices in retail, institutional, or consulting pharmacy
  • Actively participates in national pharmacy associations, professional programs, state association activities, and/or community service
