West Virginia Pharmacists Association member Charles “C.K.” Babcock of Marshall University School of Pharmacy will receive the “Generation Rx Champion Award” at the 109th Annual Convention, October 8, at the Charleston Marriott Hotel.
Sponsored by Cardinal Health, the award recognizes C.K.’s training of pharmacists, other health care providers and first responders about the benefits and use of naloxone for drug abuse.
C.K. has found his element in training others to save lives with naloxone. He speaks very well to the issues and the true nature of the disease state of addiction. He paints a human picture of the patients with additions when he speaks to professionals during training. He reminds them that those addicted are their patients who need treatment.
Pharmacists from throughout West Virginia will attend the Convention.
